Backer is a global supplier of heating and resistor technology, with development still based in Sösdala, Skåne, where the company was founded. Within 36,000 square meters of production space, solutions are developed for industries such as automotive, energy, HVAC, medical technology, and advanced industrial processes. Backer is one of the largest employers in the Municipality of Hässleholm and produced more than 1,215,000 meters of tubing in 2024. Alongside to production is a well-equipped laboratory where components and systems are tested to ensure performance, durability, and energy efficiency. This close link between testing and manufacturing enables fast development of high-quality, customized solutions. Built on Christian Backer’s pioneering heating technology and as part of the NIBE Group, Backer continues to develop reliable and energy-efficient heating solutions for a more sustainable future.
Our history
