Compressor heaters, also known as crankcase heaters, are primarily used in heat pumps and refrigeration or air-conditioning systems installed in cold outdoor environments or freezer rooms. By keeping the crankcase oil warm, they prevent refrigerant from migrating into and mixing with the oil when the system is idle. The stable temperature also prevents refrigerant from condensing in the crankcase, reducing the risk of compressor damage.
