BackerShield™ is developed for the latest generation of electrified commercial vehicles. The braking resistor works with a dedicated control unit and includes dual temperature sensors for monitoring, supporting reliable operation and integration into the vehicle system.
Designed according to automotive standards, BackerShield combines high-power energy dissipation with a liquid-cooled design. When regenerative braking is limited, excess electrical energy is converted into heat and transferred through the coolant to the vehicle’s thermal system.
The platform can be customized to meet specific application and customer requirements.
