Our Braking Resistors
Backer develops and manufactures braking resistors for demanding applications where excess electrical energy needs to be safely converted into heat. Designed to handle high loads and power levels, our solutions are available with liquid cooling and can be adapted to specific voltage, power and application requirements. Each braking resistor is developed with a strong focus on electrical safety, thermal performance and long-term reliability. Insulation integrity and dielectric strength are tested during production, while computer-based pulse load simulations are used to optimize the resistor for its intended operating conditions. Protective housings can also be used to prevent contact with hot components.
