Backer's standard range of compressor crankcase heaters in stock is mainly used for compressors in heat pumps, air-conditioning, or chiller systems installed in cold outdoor environments or in freezing rooms. The CCH heats the oil in the crankcase to prevent refrigerant migration and mixing with crankcase oil when the unit is off. It also prevents refrigerant condensation in the crankcase and compressor damage.
Eliminate start-ups with cold oil and increase the compressor's lifetime. Our range of heaters for compressors and crankcases, e.g., for heat pumps, is available in both silicone- and aluminum-based designs.
Backer’s condensate tray heaters are designed to prevent icing around the outdoor unit of heat pumps, ensuring that condensate does not freeze and can drain freely through the outlet. The choice of heater depends on the tray material: for thicker polymer trays, a waterproof heating cable is recommended and laid inside the tray; for metal trays, a self-adhesive foil heater applied to the underside of the tray provides efficient heat transfer. For thinner polymer trays, an external foil element is also a suitable solution.
